Five children from Hingolja Bandh fell victim to the tragedy while bathing in a lake near Bhawanipur in Anjar taluka of Kutch. After the children drowned in the water, an immediate search was started by the fire department and local swimmers. During this process, the bodies of four children have been recovered, while one child is still missing and the search for him is ongoing.
Under the guidance of Provincial Officer S.J. Chaudhary, the Dudhai police and rescue team retrieved the bodies from the lake and shifted them to Anjar Government Hospital for further action.
According to a local resident of Hingorja Bandh, five children who had gone for a bath in the afternoon drowned one after the other. When they did not reach home till evening, the family members started an investigation near the lake and informed the authorities.
On learning about this tragic incident, Dudhai police, fire brigade, 108 ambulance and administrative system reached the spot. The bodies of the children aged 5 to 13 have been taken out and shifted for postmortem. This tragedy has spread a wave of grief in the entire area.
