Rajnikumar Pandya’s childhood was spent in Bilkha village. His father held a post in the princely state. After completing his primary and higher education from Gujarat University, he worked as a government auditor and bank manager for a long time.
Literary career
After entering the field of writing in 1959, he made significant contributions in short stories. His first collection of stories, ‘Khalel’, was published in 1977. After 1980, he started writing columns, which include famous collections like ‘Zabkar’, ‘Manbilori’ and ‘Gulmahor’.
He started writing novels in 1985 and gave famous novels like ‘Koi Pooche To Kehjo’, ‘Parbhavana Pitrai’ and ‘Kunti’. A telefilm was also made on ‘Parbhavana Pitrai’. A Hindi TV series was also made on ‘Kunti’.
Other important contributions
He made important experiments in digitizing old literary magazines and researching the biography of patriotic poet Ruswa Mazloom. Along with this, he edited memorable stories of singers-artists like Jyuthika Roy and Upendra Trivedi.

He received several awards from the Gujarati Sahitya Akademi and Gujarati Sahitya Parishad for his pioneering contributions to journalism and literature. He was also honoured with national awards from the Government of Gujarat and the Statesman newspaper.
